Inhaled isoflurane sedation did not reduce deaths in ventilated ICU patients
The SAVE-ICU trial of 780 ventilated adults in 14 Canadian ICUs found isoflurane-based sedation left hospital mortality unchanged at about 43%, with more rescue therapy for low oxygen and fewer delirium-free days.
